I don't really like this answer and it smells bad. They did mention that the other devices I use (Win 10 and Kindles)ĭon't have that restriction, so I was able to "fix" the issue by hosting the game on Win 10. They painted the picture as "For any kind of Console (Xbox) multiplayer (except for joining a LAN game apparently), you need a Live Gold subscription". Sort of ability I wasn't supposed to have. That this functionality worked previously is, they say, some ![]() As an update, I spoke with MS/Xbox support and their claim now is that because I'm not a Live Gold subscriber, my Xbox can not host a multiplayer LAN game (I can, however, *join* a LAN game).
